The structure of Academic Governance at Tabor College NSW relies on the following key bodies:

There are four other permanent positions comprising the College’s academic leadership team. These positions, all of which report to the Principal, are:
Dean of Students (Jon Newton): The role focuses on:
providing support to the Principal regarding resolution of academic and academic policy issues;
provision of:
on going support and monitoring of progress of students with special needs;
support to students where personal issues are impacting adversely on their academic progress (say, partnership separation, family disruption, or trauma) and referral to qualified counsellors where this is appropriate; and
support to the Faculty Executive apropos management, progression, and needs
of students coping with personal difficulties;
Pastoral Directors (Graeme Peters [male students] and Vanessa
Chant [female students]): This role focuses on provision, supervision and quality control of students’
pastoral education, formation and leadership. The function entails oversight, coordination,
integration, and assessment of students’ practical pastoral and leadership studies and experiences
within the College’s own and external placement system.
Program Coordinators (John Newton for Ministry and Theology and Vanessa Chant for Counselling): This role focuses on the management, delivery, content, assessment, and quality control of academic programs, as well as student progression. In addition, the role entails management of and leadership over:
development, currency and utilization of program teaching materials and resources;
development and performance of faculty responsible for program delivery.
Development Coordinator (Unfilled. Responsibilities of this function are currently shared by the Principal, General Manager and Registrar): This role broadly focuses on achieving continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of program quality and impact of delivery. The ambit of the role enfolds:
the monitoring of student progression and attrition;
reviewing and reporting of student feedback and evaluation of program and modular delivery;
up-skilling the pedagogical effectiveness of faculty through in-house seminars and as appropriate, external training and development;
monitoring the impact of new knowledge and pedagogical technique on program currency and delivery;
monitoring parity of assessment processes and standards across programs;
longitudinal studies of student performance;
feedback from program alumni on career destination.
Consists of the permanent academic leadership team who direct and co-ordinate the management and implementation of academic policy and
practice. The composition and function of this body are loosely analogous to a board of studies or similar inner council of a university faculty or
school.
Faculty Executive’s Ethics Advisory Panel
This body recommends guidelines to govern ethical considerations applicable to student research and projects which involve humans as subjects. The panel
also monitors curriculum for ethics implications.
